We, Fenlander Software Solutions Ltd is a company based in England (“Fenlander”) provide this privacy policy so as to clearly inform you how Fenlander and the third party companies we work with collect, use, share and secure your information when you use the Fasting Secret Recipe Companion & Fenlander websites (“Site”) and any of our mobile or tablet applications, including but not limited to Fasting Secret Recipe app(“Apps”).
By using the Site and/or Apps, you represent and warrant that you have read and understood, and agree to the terms of, this privacy policy. If you do not understand or do not agree to be bound by this privacy policy, you may not use the Site and/or Apps.
By using our Site and Apps you also agree to be bound by medical disclaimer which we recommend you read.
- Information we collect about you and your device
Each time you visit our Site or use one of our Apps we may automatically collect the following information:
- Technical information, including the type of mobile device you use, a unique device identifier mobile network information, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile browser you use or time zone setting;
- Log file information such as details of your use of any of our Apps or your visits to our Site, including, but not limited to, traffic data, internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyse trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information.
IP addresses and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
- Google Analytics
Fenlander use Google Analytics to see how people are interacting with our Site and Apps. For example, we can see that a certain recipe is really popular, or that another is rarely viewed. This allows us to improve the kind of content we provide. None of your personally identifiable information provided to Fenlander is transferred to Google to provide this service and the collection and use of your data by Google is subject to their privacy policy which you can view on their website.
Our Apps include the option of opting out of Google Analytics on our settings screen and about page. To opt out of Google Analytics on our Site you can use a free opt out tool provided by Google.
- Cloud Storage
Fenlander use third parties such as the Apple Cloud Services, Google Play Services, Firebase & Parse to help administer the applications (e.g. storage and hosting providers), and such parties may have access to data from our applications. For example, Parse is used to send push notifications to our users when we launch a new app that we believe will be of interest.
The data that Fenlander collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or a third party we collaborate with. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. Fenlander will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although Fenlander will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Site or Apps and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
- Advertising
We will never share any personally identifiable information to any companies we advertise with. Currently, we don’t offer outside advertising. If we did add this in future, then we would only share limited information such as our overall usage data with advertisers, so they can see for example, how many active users the Apps have or how much time users are spending within the Apps or Site.
We use Facebook advertising to encourage installs of our Apps whereby if you have visited our Site, or any other site we partner with, we are then able to serve such visitor with an advertisement on their Facebook newsfeed that encourages you to download one of our Apps. Such Facebook advertising will be subject to Facebook’s privacy policy and terms of use you agree to by using Facebook.
- Images
Our Apps invite and encourage you to share pictures on your social media accounts (including Instagram) of meals you have prepared. By sharing photos you grant our Apps permission to access your photos in order to upload such images to your social media accounts. Any images you share from any of our Apps to your Instagram account will be subject to Instagram’s privacy policy, similarly any images shared to other social media accounts will be subject to the relevant social media account’s terms and privacy policy. Fenlander will only be able to see any of your Instagram images if your Instagram account is set to be publicly viewed.
- HealthKit App Data
The Lean Cook app makes use of the Apple Health App Database (“HealthKit”). HealthKit, owned by Apple, is a tool and framework for developers of health and fitness apps to work together and collate data. You can choose to connect and share information in respect of any of our Apps (you use) with HealthKit and your HealthKit information with any of our Apps. If you grant The Lean Cook access to HealthKit, it can add information such as calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, amongst others, to HealthKit. Your unique health data you choose to send to and from HealthKit is not accessible by Fenlander and is not transferred by Fenlander to any third parties for marketing or advertising. Our Apps cannot write data to HealthKit unless you grant access.
Fenlander is in no way responsible for the protection of any of your information that you agree to store with HealthKit, which is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and other terms. You and Apple are solely responsible for the protection of such information. Please review Apple’s applicable policies and procedures before syncing and backing up your health data and/or other information with the Health Kit.
- Newsletter
From within the Apps you can subscribe to the Fenlander newsletter or the newsletter of the published authors who we collaborate with. Newsletters are hosted using services such as Aweber and MailChimp (“Third Party Email Service Providers”). Each has their own privacy policy, which can be found on their respective websites and which by subscribing you agree to. Third Party Email Service Providers allow us to send emails to thousands of subscribers and have access to certain statistics such as how many people are opening our emails and what people are mostly clicking on.
Third Party Email Service Providers allow us to improve the kind of content we are emailing and help us keep in touch with our users about updates to the Apps or new releases.
Users can safely unsubscribe at any time, using the unsubscribe links included inside the email. You will immediately stop receiving emails from us and your details are deleted from our database within 30 days.
Third Party Email Providers do store some personally identifiable information, although we try to keep this to a minimum by only asking for your first name and email address.
It’s also worth noting that we use a double opt in. When you enter your name and email, we’ll send you a message to double check that you want to subscribe. This contains a confirmation link you’ll need to click before we start sending you any emails.
We hate spam as much as you do and will never sell on your email address to an advertiser or third party.
- Google Remarketing
This site uses Google remarketing. Third-party vendors, including Google, may show our ads on sites across the Internet. These third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your past visits to our Site. Information about how your visitors can opt out of Google’s use of cookies can be found by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can point your visitors to opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
- Outside Links
We have included links on the Site and in the Apps for your use and reference. We are not responsible for the terms of use or privacy policies on these websites. You should be aware that the privacy policies of these sites may differ from our own.
- Privacy Policy Changes
Fenlander reserves the right to change this policy at any time. Please check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of our Apps and Site following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes.
